Our practice

We are a residential architectural design studio that works across scale and budget, from new builds to renovations to ADUs.

Our experience spans the US with a focus in Southern California and Maine.

Our work is rooted in the integrity of west coast modernism and east coast utilitarianism.

First and foremost the focus of our practice is collaboration, the process of helping our clients achieve a vision for their built environment which serves the way they live.

Although our work doesn’t adhere to a single style or outcome, all our projects are rooted in the integrity of our obsessions; Los Angeles Modernism and Maine utilitarianism.

Utilitarian design style inspiration from Maine.
The succinct, utilitarian design language found in Maine, where our principle Andrei Pogany has spent family summers throughout his life, underlies our approach to problem solving.
Light filled LA modernist architecture.
The approach to light, form and materiality in the work of L.A. modernists like the Eames is a source of constant inspiration in how we think about optimizing our client’s lifestyles through built design.

Mónica Mendoza

Artist + Project Architect

Mónica Mendoza is a cross-border artist and project architect originally from Tijuana, Baja California. From an early age, she cultivated a passion for both music and architecture, pursuing creative expression through multiple disciplines. She studied architecture at NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego, where she earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2013.

Her creative practice has long existed at the intersection of design, music, and visual expression, with each discipline informing and enriching the other. Professionally, Mendoza began her architectural career working on restaurants, commercial, educational and civic projects throughout Southern California, gaining experience in public-focused design and community-centered spaces.

In 2019, she relocated to Los Angeles to expand her architectural practice with a focus on residential design. Since 2022, she has been part of Pogany Studio, where she has worked on a diverse range of residential projects, including ground-up homes, remodels, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Her architectural work reflects the same thoughtful, exploratory approach that characterizes her work as a musician and artist.
